Investment trends, digital trends, education trends; all are intertwined in ways that affect us all.
It’s no coincidence the FAANG stocks are all design-led, customer-obsessed companies at the bleeding edge of technological advancements.
What makes them such attractive growth investments provides a window into the skills both businesses and employees alike will need to thrive in the future.
It’s why we’re delighted to partner with Academy Xi, so you can not only invest in the trends transforming our world, but also future-proof yourself as the transformation take place.
AtlasTrenders and their families can now enjoy 20% off tuition fees* for all on-campus or online courses offered at Academy Xi, and there are plenty.
While AtlasTrend helps everyday Australians gain investment exposure to megatrends like big data, Academy Xi teaches them how to grasp and unlock its potential in a practical setting.
We recognise our community come from diverse professional backgrounds and are at varying life stages, so your special discount code (available to Investors and Learners) can be shared with family and friends you think would benefit.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Academy Xi on joint initiatives that will bring value to both communities. Our shared purpose of delivering a positive social impact, and helping people align their career and investments to be part of the trends transforming our world makes for a natural partnership.”

An educator and a fund manager walk into a bar
Ok, so it didn’t quite happen that way, but Jade (AtlasTrend co-founder) and Ben (Academy Xi founder) did walk into a meeting room.
Given our shared values and mission to empower people through education, we knew a fruitful collaboration was on the horizon.
Despite being for-profit organisations, we both exist to pursue purpose beyond profit.
Academy Xi does this via their Xi Act initiative, which is focused on extending into regions without access to quality education; and AtlasTrend is partially-owned (~20%) by charitable foundations helping improve the health and well-being of children around the world.
What’s in it for you?
As much as we’re focused on building our customer’s long-term wealth, we know it’s just as important to invest in yourself – adding new skills to your toolkit to attract a higher salary, make you an indispensable asset at your company, or simply help you pursue your passion (side hustle).
“Ultimately, there’s one investment that supersedes all others: Invest in yourself. Nobody can take away what you’ve got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven’t used yet. If you can increase your potential 10%, 20% or 30% by enhancing your talents, they can’t tax it away. Inflation can’t take it from you. You have it the rest of your life.”
Instead of listening to us explain how you can take advantage of this member perk, hear directly from Academy Xi’s founder Ben Wong in the rapid-fire Q&A below:
1. What sets Academy Xi apart from other-skills-focused institutions?
The inspiration for Academy Xi came after I began to recognise the increasing skills gap in the market that the traditional education system was not addressing. Academy Xi teaches short, practical and skill-specific courses for those wanting to up-skill and companies seeking to upgrade their capabilities in design, innovation, and digital transformation.
With our dynamically changing curriculum and on-demand content, we support people’s career transformations whilst integrating new learnings about emerging markets and future technologies.
Beyond what we teach, a big part of Academy Xi is also building a community. At the heart of everything we do, my team and I seek to create exceptional experiences for our tribe who have the capability to change the world.
As such our goal is to create a lifetime learning hub, and one of the ways we intend to continually engage our community and nurture rising talent is through our soon to be launched alumni program.
2. Do you need to be working in a particular industry/role to get involved?
No, not at all. Our courses are designed for anybody and have no pre-requisites.
Many of our students have come from a diverse range of backgrounds including industrial or graphic design, management consulting, psychology, entrepreneurship, technology, the not-for-profit sector, and the health industry.
We’ve also seen some amazing results from students who have come from the hospitality industry, recruitment, and even parents who have re-entered the workforce after taking time off to prioritise their families.
The only thing we do ask from our students is a sense of curiosity and the ability to apply their newly found skills in a team environment where we can all collaborate and learn off each other.
3. What can AtlasTrenders expect to learn from your courses?
Whether the AtlasTrend community are seeking to upskill or transform into a new career, the courses at Academy Xi will teach you the soft and hard skills which prepare you for the industry.
With a practice-led approach to theory, our full and part-time students will work on live projects with real clients which means they embed the knowledge they’ve learned immediately.
Plus, all of our full-time students will have the opportunity to participate in our Outcomes Program — a program designed to support our students’ search for employment within a 90 day period after they complete a course.
4. If you were a parent, what would you tell/recommend to your kids in preparation or the jobs of the future (in light of automation, casualisation etc..?)
When I think back to my childhood (which was not that long ago) compared to what children have to face with today, so much has changed!
Emerging technologies and digital disruption are not only revolutionising the way we communicate but are also changing the workforce of tomorrow.
While the thought of this can be a bit daunting, it also provides a wealth of opportunity for up-and-coming talent or rising talent. Gone are the days of one-industry, one company careers, with research suggesting that Gen Z is expected to have 17 jobs over 5 careers in their life.
To facilitate this, we’ve created an early education pillar of Academy Xi called Gen Xi. Gen Xi is an innovation and entrepreneurship program aimed at shaping the design and technology leaders and innovators of tomorrow: our youth.
The advice to my future kids would be similar to that of our students — stay curious, be willing to stretch your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to have ideas; it’s often those people who were told that their ideas were crazy, who are the ones that change the world.
5. How does Academy Xi help accelerate the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and why is this important to you?
With our vision to change the world through education, Academy Xi collaborates with great Social Impact organisations such as Telstra Foundation, Talent RISE, UNICEF, Remarkable, and WWF.
Although, we are a for-profit company, the vision for Xi Act is that we will extend into regions that are unable to access quality education. Using our well-developed content and passionate community to empower those in need; our sights are set on Australia, APAC and beyond.
6. Which global megatrend aligns with your view of where the world is heading?
One digital megatrend which is leading the world into an exciting new direction is through Virtual (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Design.
The modern applications of VR allow people to participate in concerts and social meetings from a remote location. VR is set to change the way education is delivered. With VR, students can step into an immersive world that gives real-life experiences to events and places that would be geographically, or historically difficult to be present in.
Similarly, AR is already being used to help businesses understand and manipulate large amounts of data.
The same could be done in education allowing students to step inside abstract concepts, understand historical facts, simulate hypothetical tests, or manipulate complex information.
With these emerging technologies the possibilities of education — like work —are endless, and this is a really exciting place to be working in.
